Winter in April

Just when I thought spring was here, winter came back in full force. An April day below freezing calls for a warm, comfy outfit.

I'd consider this another of my power outfits but for different reasons. I always wear these pieces together. My favorite part of this lace blouse is the button detail up the back. I've attempted to wear the lace overlay with a tank underneath and high-waisted, flare jeans once.  I thought it was a bit too NSFW.

There aren't many scenarios where leggings are a good idea for the work place, but this outfit is in perfect balance with the oversized silk blouse and over-the-knee boots.

I'm obsessed with these Tory Burch over-the-knee boots and spent many months searching for them.  I love the classic riding boot style and comfort factor with the low heel.  Admittedly, I have incredibly high standards (and a very real obsession--you'll pick up on this quickly if you keep reading my blog) with shoes.  I'm willing to spend quite a bit for the perfect pair.  Shoes make the outfit, why not?!  To my defense, I snatched these up during a holiday sale.

All together, There's a touch of fancy and a whole lot of work-appropriate comfort, wrapped up in New York chic black.  This combo will continue to be a go-to until spring decides to stick around for good.

Bonus!  I wasn't the only one in the office that took the same all-black, comfy clothes approach to this chilly day.  Great minds...:)
